Kraut-Tunawiches

I found this recipe in the newspaper 30 years ago. It was so unusual that I had to try it. I've been making it ever since. Don't skip the butter on the buns! Show more

Serves: 6

Yields: 6 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2  cups  drained sauerkraut
  • 1 (7 ounce) package tuna
  • 12 cup mayonnaise
  • 14 cup  diced green pepper
  • 2  tablespoons  chopped onions
  • 2  tablespoons  sweet pickle relish
  • 14 teaspoon  celery salt
  • 6  hamburger buns, split and buttered

Directions

  1. Combine kraut, tuna, mayonnaise, green pepper, onion, relish and celery salt.
  2. Mix well and chill.
  3. Fill hamburger buns with kraut-tuna salad.
