Kfc -Coleslaw- Done- In- My- Neck- Of- The- Woods

I read all the time recipes for kfc slaw and they all call for mayo. Where I buy kfc, slaw has no mayo in it. Maybe it's up to the kfc stores, since they're now all privately franchised owned. Anyway, I tried and tried till I got this to taste like the kfc slaw where I buy it. Hope you like it.

Ingredients

• 1⁄2 large head of cabbage, chopped
• 1  carrot, finely diced
• 1⁄2 onion, finely
• 1⁄2 cup sugar
• 1⁄2 cup vinegar
• 1  teaspoon celery seed
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
• 1⁄4 cup  oil

Directions

1. Chop cabbage, onion and carrot.
2. Mix sugar, vinegar, celery seed, salt, pepper and oil in saucepan.
3. Boil 3-4 minutes.
4. Pour over slaw mix.
5. Chill.
