Key Largo Sunset Margarita

As colorful as a Florida sunset, this fruity-delicious cocktail is a favorite at the Sundowners Restaurant in Key Largo.

Ingredients

• 1  lime wedge
•  coarse sugar
• 1  tablespoon  pureed mangoes or 1  tablespoon  thawed frozen mango pulp
• 1  tablespoon strawberry puree (in blender, puree 10 fresh or frozen strawberries with 1/4 cup lemon-lime soft drink and refrigerate)
• 7 -8  ice cubes
• 3  tablespoons  gold tequila
• 3  tablespoons  orange juice
• 2  tablespoons Cointreau liqueur
• 1 1⁄2 tablespoons lime juice
•  mint sprig (optional)
•  lime zest, curl (optional)

Directions

1. Rub rim of 1 margarita glass with lime; dip into sugar. Add mango and strawberry purees to glass. Fill cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add tequila, orange juice, Cointreau and lime juice. Cover; shake vigorously. Pour into glass. If desired, garnish with mint sprig and lime zest.
