Keeping White Socks White

I love Jerry Baker's helpful tips and household recipes, and here's another from his book. Dirty white socks will come clean as a whistle if you try this:

• Ready In: 6 mins
• Yields: 1 pot

Ingredients

•  water (1 medium or large pot, size of pot and amount of water depends on how many stained socks you want to)
• 1  lemon

Directions

1. Boil water with the (sliced or quartered) lemon.
2. Add socks.
3. Boil for a couple of minutes, then wash as usual.
