Kayleigh's Healthy Pasta Sauce

Serves: 2-3
Ingredients
- 1 (15 ounce) can canned tomatoes (plumed or chopped and depending on how tomato-y you like it)
- 1⁄2 onion
- 1⁄2 bell pepper (yellow,green or red)
- vegetable oil
- tomato puree
- cooked ham (don't have to add it in) (optional)
- 2 garlic cloves
- sugar
- 4 cups pasta shells or 4 cups spaghetti
Directions
- Dice 1/2 or 1 onion.
- Slice the pepper or dice.
- Chop 2 garlic cloves so that they are small, or crush if preferred.
- Turn 2 cooker hob to mark 3 or 4.
- Start cooking pasta shells/spaghetti while doing next steps.
- When pot is heated add a tablespoon of veg oil, pepper, garlic and onion.
- Wait until onions are brown or peppers are limp.
- Add tinned tomatoes and a teaspoon of tomato puree.
- Bring to boil will adding 1 or 2 pinches of sugar.
- Add in cooked ham (if needed).
- Let it boil to thicken sauce.
- Once thick enough, by this time pasta should be ready.
- Put cooker hob with sauce on it down to mark 1 while draining pasta.
