Kat's Brownies

Yields: 30 2 inch brownies
Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups cocoa powder
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 1⁄2 cups softened butter or 1 1⁄2 cups softened margarine
- 6 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, eggs, vanilla and sugar.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until the mixture is well blended.
- Spread batter evenly in a parchment lined 11 X 13 inch cookie sheet (for thin brownies) or a 9 X 12 inch cake pan.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan.
- Cut into 1 to 2 inch squares.
- For gift mix purposes, you can layer all the dry ingredients into a large jar and attach a tag. For instructions, cream butter, eggs and vanilla extract. Then mix in jar of ingredients.
