Kahlua Chip Cookies

Yields: 24 large cookies
Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 1⁄2 cup butter, softened
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 tablespoons coffee liqueur, Kahlua
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix ingredients one at a time in order listed, making sure each is well incorporated before adding the next ingredient.
- Place dough 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. I prefer to use parchment paper. Bake for 13 to 16 minutes, or unil cookies begin to lightly brown on edges.
- Cool cookies on a wire rack. Store in an air-tight container.
