Johnny's Chicken Wings

This is my DH's recipe. He makes these for potlucks and other get togethers, throws them in a crockpot to keep them warm and brings home an empty pot every time. Measurements are guestimates, if this makes you nervous, don't worry, everything will work out perfectly! Show more

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over a low/med heat saute chicken wings in butter and garlic until wings brown.
  2. Mix brown sugar and orange juice, add to the pan and finish cooking wings. Sauce should not be boiling, but a gentle simmer.
  3. Wings should have a nice glaze and the meat should be about falling off the bone when they are done.
  4. If needed you can add more juice as the wings cook.
  5. Note: Move the wings around as they cook so that they cook evenly and don't brown too much on one side. Don't cook over too high a heat, the butter and garlic will burn quickly and the orange juice will cook off too quickly. You can also put a lid on the pan after adding the orange juice and brown sugar to help slow evaporation and reduce spatters.
