Jewish - Old Family Recipe - Hamantashen by Ileene Rubinrotte

Purim recipe. Also great with tea/coffee.

Serves: 8

Ingredients

  • 4  eggs
  • 1  cup  oil
  • 1 14 cups sugar
  • 2  teaspoons vanilla
  • 3  teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 5 12 cups flour
  • Filling

  •  raspberry preserves or   apricot jam, lekvar, etc

Directions

  1. Beat first 4 ingredients.
  2. Sift remaining ingredients & add to egg mixture.
  3. Knead dough until smooth. (Add flour if needed.).
  4. Roll out.
  5. Cut into circles.
  6. Add 1 teaspoons filling of choice into center.
  7. Form into triangles.
  8. Grease baking pan lightly.
  9. Bake 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
