Jelly Bean Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1⁄8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄2 lb raisins
- 3⁄4 cup applesauce
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon water, hot
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 lb jelly beans
Directions
- Mix together dry flour and spices.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Mix in beaten egg.
- Alternate mixing dry ingredients and applesauce into the creamed mixture.
- Dissolve soda in hot water and add to batter.
- Add vanilla, raisins, and jelly beans.
- Drop onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake 15 minutes at 325 degrees.
