Italian Sausage Dressing

We used to make this at Thanksgiving and when we had leftover Italian bread that was getting stale. With a little gravy, an outstanding side dish. Show more

Directions

  1. Brown the sausage and chopped celery.
  2. Move the cooked sausage and celery along with drippings to a large bowl.
  3. Add the torn bread and parmesan cheese.
  4. Mix the liquid ingredients.
  5. Add liquid ingredients to the bowl and stir until consistent texture throughout.
  6. Top with the remaining parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes covered to allow liquid to be soaked into the bread and the cheese inside the dressing to melt.
  8. Bake an additional 15 minutes uncovered or until a nice brown topping appears.
  9. Serve with your favorite gravy.
