Incredible Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

These particular sugar cookies are much more like small cakes, I think, than traditional sugar cookies, so you're free to frost or glaze them to your taste. We prefer them plain. I also use an old fashioned biscuit cutter to shape my cookies, so they turn out to be somewhat larger than a traditional cookie as well. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do! Show more

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream together until smooth. Add the remaining dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface, about 1/4" thick. Cut out cookies with your choice of cookie cutter.
  3. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 minutes.
