Hot Fudge Sauce

Yields: 2 Cups
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3⁄4 cup cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons shortening
- 2⁄3 cup boiling water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄4 cup light corn syrup
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions
- Add all ingredients except vanilla to a small saucepan.
- While stirring, bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once it starts to boil, cook without stirring until thick for 8 minutes.
- Stir in vanilla and remove from heat.
- Let cool slightly.
- If there are any leftovers, it will become grainy within a day or so. Stir in 1-2 T hot water to revive.
- NOTE: 4 ounces of unsweetened chocolate can be substituted for the cocoa powder and shortening.
