Hot-Chocolate Shortbread Sticks from Parenting Magazine

Ingredients
- Pam cooking spray
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 cup instant hot chocolate powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 12 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 (4 1/4ounce) package vanilla frosting
Directions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9 x 13 pan with aluminum foil and spray with Pam.
- 2. Combine flour, hot chocolate mix, and salt in medium bowl.
- 3. Beat butter sugar in another medium bowl with electric mixer on high until light and fluffy (about 3 min). Add egg and beat well. Slowly add flour mixture and continue until just combined, scraping the sides of the bowl.
- 4. Spread dough evenly in the prepared pan. Bake until firm to touch about 30-35 minute Transfer to wire rack to cool for 5 minute Lift foil and cookies from pan and place on cutting board. Slice in half length wise and cut each half crosswise in 3/4 in pieces.
- 5. After they have cooled, dot with frosting and let dry before storing.
