Hot Chicken Sticks

Great appetizers and easy to make. From the Pampered Chef with some alterations to fit our taste.

Yields: 24 appetizers

Ingredients

  • 24  wooden skewers or 24  metal  skewers
  • 12 cup chili sauce
  • 1  tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2  teaspoons  hot pepper sauce or 2  teaspoons  hot pepper jelly, for a sweeter taste
  • 2  lbs  chicken tenders (24)
  • Dipping Sauce

  • 1 (8 ounce) bottle  bleu cheese salad dressing
  • 12 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 2  tablespoons green onions, finely chopped

Directions

  1. Heat your grill to medium heat.
  2. If using wooden skewers be sure to soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  3. Be sure to oil grill before cooking.
  4. Combine chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce, or the hot pepper jelly, whichever you are using.
  5. Thread each chicken tender onto skewer, leaving 1 inch empty at each end.
  6. Baste with the chili sauce mixture.
  7. Grill on medium heat for about 15 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in center.
  8. Baste often with the chili sauce mixture.
  9. Dipping Sauce:
  10. Combine bleu cheese dressing, celery and onion and serve with chicken.
