Ingredients

  • 10  slices  of day-old  bread
  • 3  eggs, beaten until light
  • 12 cup milk
  • 13 cup butter (bacon grease is tasty) or 13 cup  other  fat (bacon grease is tasty)
  •  salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Heat the butter or fat in a skillet.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and brown in melted butter or fat.
  3. Beat eggs and milk together; add salt and pepper.
  4. Pour over bread and fry until brown.
  5. Serve while hot.
