Honey BBQ Sauce

Yields: 5-6 cups
Ingredients
- 1 small onion, minced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups ketchup
- 3⁄4 cup honey
- 1⁄3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1⁄8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1⁄8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1⁄4 cup red wine
- salt (to taste)
- ground pepper (to taste)
Directions
- Melt butter in a large kettle.
- Brown onion and garlic together.
- Add all other ingredients and mix well.
- Simmer for approximately 35-45 minutes.
- Brush on meats or serve cold as a dip.
- Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
