Homemade Snow Cones

Serves: 24

Yields: 24 snow cones

Ingredients

  • 2  lbs sugar
  • 1  quart water
  • 1 (1/4ounce) packet  cherry Kool-Aid
  • 1 (1/4ounce) packet  lemonade  Kool-Aid
  • 1 (1/4ounce) packet  ice blue raspberry lemonade  Kool-Aid
  • 8 -10  lbs  ice

Directions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Turn off heat and allow to cool.
  3. Put each flavor of Kool-Aid into a separate container. (We use the squeeze ketchup and mustard bottles that come in picnic packs.).
  4. Divide sugar evenly between each.
  5. Replace cap and shake well.
  6. Refrigerate syrup.
  7. You can get an ice shaver or you can use a blender or a food processor to crush ice.
  8. Heap shaved ice up to form a ball on top of your cup.
  9. Carefully pour syrup in thirds on top to make stripes.
