Homemade Sausage Patties

Nice flavor from the pistachios. Kind of fun to throw your own patties together. To be sure you have the seasoning to your liking, before you make the patties cook a bit of the meat and taste, adjust your seasoning accordingly. You can also make wee meatballs and serve as an appetizer with a dipping sauce.

• Yields: 6 patties

Ingredients

• 1  lb ground pork
• 1  teaspoon dried sage
• 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 3⁄4 teaspoon pepper
• 1  pinch allspice
• 1  pinch chili powder
• 1  pinch  of powdered bay leaf
• 1  ounce pistachio nut, chopped

Directions

1. Mix all the ingredients together to form patties.
2. Saute in a skillet until well browned on both sides. Serve.
