Homemade Peach Ice Cream

When peaches come into season, one of the best ways to use them is ice cream!

Serves: 10

Yields: 1 gallon

Ingredients

  • 4  eggs
  • 1 34 cups sugar
  • 4  cups  whipping cream
  • 1  cup  whole milk
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 10 -12  peaches
  • 12 cup sugar

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs until thick.
  2. Add 1 3/4 cups sugar gradually.
  3. Mix in whipping cream, milk, vanilla and salt.
  4. Store in refrigerator while making peaches.
  5. Puree peaches to equal 4 cups leaving some chunks
  6. Mix in 1/2 cup sugar.
  7. Stir into egg mixture.
  8. Pour into a 1 gallon ice cream maker.
  9. Make ice cream as per manufacturer directions.
