Homemade Oatmeal

A friend of mine gave me a bunch of oatmeal. I have a large family, so the recipe makes a lot, but it can easily be reduced for smaller sizes. After searching for recipes and a bit of tweaking, this is what I came up with. The end result is pretty hearty, so if you want a "gooey" oatmeal, I would reduce the amount of oats used. You can play with the liquid amounts a bit so long as the measurements remain the same. The flavor from the evaporated milk is key. Half and half can be substituted for double milk. Show more
