Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

This recipe comes from the Country Cookin' Cookbook by the Church of God of Prophecy in Washington, NC. A couple of the ingredients did not coincide with the instructions but I used my best judgement and also added a few extra seasonings (seasoning salt, onion powder and garlic powder) to my taste. I really like this recipe though because it is so simple. Show more

Directions

  1. Boil chicken in 4 quarts of water (you will need broth later) with salt and pepper. When chicken is done (make sure you have 4 quarts of broth), take it out and let cool, then debone and dice it. Place chicken back into the broth. Next, add 4 cans of cream of chicken soup, noodles, and 2 cups of milk to consistency for thickness. Check noodles for tenderness. Cook approximately 10 minutes. Serve.
