Have you ever been in the middle of baking and realized you didn't have brown sugar? This is terrific because you don't have to make it in advance--just throw it together when you need it.   1. When a recipe calls for brown sugar, use an equal amount of white sugar. Reduce the amount of the sugar by a tablespoon for every cup. Add 1 tablespoon of molasses to wet ingredients of recipe per cup of white sugar.
