Holiday Eight-Layer Bars

Yields: 24 bars

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 (9 ounce) package  chocolate wafer cookies
  • 2  tablespoons sugar
  • 12 cup butter, melted
  • 1 (11 ounce) package  peanut butter and milk chocolate chips
  • 1 (12 ounce) package  semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2  cups sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 cup  red and green  M&M's plain chocolate candy

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spread nuts over ungreased baking sheet;bake until lightly browned,3-4 minutes.
  3. Cool.
  4. Line 13 by 9-inch baking pan with heavy-duty foil; coat with cooking spray.
  5. In food processor process cookies and sugar until fine crumbs form; stir in butter.
  6. Press into bottom of pan.
  7. Sprinkle with peanut butter and milk chocolate chips, then semi-sweet chips; sprinkle with nuts, then half of coconut.
  8. Pour milk over coconut; sprinkle with remaining coconut.
  9. Bake 25-30 minutes or until chocolate is melted and coconut is toasted.
  10. Immediately sprinkle with M&Ms; press to adhere.
  11. Cool completely in pan.
  12. Refrigerate until cold, 2 hours; cut into bars.
