Holiday Chocolate Nut Squares

Try these as a special treat for the holidays, everyone will love them. They are quite rich so I would suggest to cut into small pieces. I like to use a good quality chocolate, such as Callebaut dessert chocolate chips. These keep well in an airtight container. Show more

Directions

  1. Heat the butter in a saucepan until melted.
  2. Stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, egg, vanilla, biscuits, coconut and walnuts and mix together well.
  3. Spread the mixture over the base of a Swiss roll tin 33x23 cm or similar.
  4. Leave in the fridge while you make the filling.
  5. Heat the water in a pan. Add the butter, sugar and custard powder and beat all together until soft and well mixed.
  6. Spread over the biscuit base and return to the fridge.
  7. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or in a pan until melted. Drizzle the chocolate evenly over the filling.
  8. Sprinkle with the nuts and return to the fridge.
  9. When it is cool and set, cut into required number of pieces.
  10. Store in an airtight container.
  11. Enjoy!
