Heather’s Super Fabulous Protein Bars

Ingredients

  • 12 cup steel cut oats (I use Trader Joe's steel cut oats) or 12 cup  dry oatmeal (I use Trader Joe's steel cut oats)
  • 12 cup  almond flour (also from Trader Joes)
  • 6  tablespoons  protein powder (6 scoops, I use Pure Protein 100% whey)
  • 3  tablespoons flax seeds
  • 1  cup non-fat powdered milk
  • 1  cup  slivered almonds (or whatever almonds you have)
  • 5  tablespoons  natural chunky peanut butter or 5  tablespoons  unsalted almond butter
  • 1  cup  davinci sugar free flavored  syrup
  • 12 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together. Add in peanut butter, water and almond syrup. Mix well. It will be a big sticky brownie-ish glob.
  3. Spray a 9x9 pan with nonstick spray. Spread mixture into pan. Use aluminum foil to cover edges of pan and mixture(like a shield for the edges)
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes. It should look done on top but slightly raw inside when done, as it will harden as it cools. Allow to cool and cut into 9 squares.
