Heath Bar Muffins

These are super with softened butter or flavored spreads; try with the other candy bars at least once! Show more

Yields: 12 muffins

Ingredients

  • 2  cups flour
  • 12 cup  packed light brown sugar
  • 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1  cup milk, at room temperature
  • 13 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 1  large egg, lightly beaten,at room temperature
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 14 cups  heath bar  toffee pieces (or shattered Butterfinger or Milky Way bars)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400*F.
  2. Line 12 standard-size muffin cups with paper wrappers; set aside.
  3. Whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, stir together the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
  5. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture; add the milk mixture and stir just until combined.
  6. Do not overmix.
  7. Gently fold in the Heath Bar bits.
  8. Spoon batter into the prepared muffin cups; bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick tests out clean.
  9. Cool 5 minutes in tins before removing to wire racks and cool completely.
  10. Store airtight at room temperature.
