- In heavy saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and water. Stirring constantly bring to 300* on candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat - add vanilla and stir (careful, it will bubble).
- Pour into foil lined or silpat covered cookie sheet - sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- When the chips melt, spread the chocolate over like frosting.
- After it sets, break into pieces and place in airtight container.
