Healthified Sassy Cinnamon Cookies

My mother-in-law brought over these crunchy, cinnamon-packed treats one night, and I couldn't keep my hands off them. Thank goodness they're healthier than the average cookie! She found this recipe on www.eatbetteramerica.com where the website states, "These sassy little cookies with pecans and cinnamon-flavored chips pack a dynamite punch!"   1. Heat oven to 375°F (If using dark or non-stick pan, heat oven to 350 F.).
  2. In a large bowl, beat 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed (or mix with a spoon) until creamy. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Stir in cinnamon chips and pecans.
  3. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
  4. Shape dough by tablespoonfuls into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar. On ungreased cookie sheet, place balls 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until set and light brown.
  6. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
