Hazel's Bars

I don't know who Hazel was, or how I got her recipe, but this is a nice bar cookie that is fairly easy to make. I've had the recipe for over 30 years. Show more

  1. BASE - Preheat oven to 350*. Mix butter, brown sugar and graham flour to form a dough. Pat evenly into a 9" x 13" pan that you have sprayed with cooking spray (or greased with butter). Bake @ 350* for 12-15 minutes.
  2. TOPPING - Lower oven temperature to 325*. Beat eggs, vanilla, brown sugar, flour and baking powder for 1 minute on "low" speed of a mixer.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  4. Spread over crust.
  5. Return to oven and bake @ 325* for 25-30 minutes.
