Hazelnut Chocolate Bourbon Balls (No Bake)

Plan ahead the balls need to chill for a minimum or 24 hours to develop flavors, don't even think about serving them before the specified time, they will have less flavor. Yields: 24 balls

Ingredients

  • 10  ounces  finely crushed  vanilla wafers (2 1/2 cups, I use Nilla Vanilla wafers for this)
  • 1 14 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2  tablespoons  finely ground hazelnuts
  • 14 cup Bourbon (I use Jack Daniels for this or you can use rum also)
  • 2  tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3  tablespoons corn syrup
  • 13 cup granulated sugar (you can roll them in confectioners sugar in place of granulated sugar if desired)

Directions

  1. In a medium size bowl mix together the vanilla crumbs, bourbon, cocoa and corn syrup until well combined.
  2. Shape into small balls (using about 1 tablespoon mixture for each ball).
  3. Place on waxed paper.
  4. Place the granulated sugar in a small shallow dish.
  5. Roll the small balls in sugar to coat.
  6. Place in a tightly covered container for a minimum of 24 hours to develop flavors.
