Hawaiian Pineapple Dessert

I had this dessert at a dinner recently. I havent actually made it myself, but here's the recipe from the hostess. Show more

  1. Drain pineapple, reserve juice.
  2. Add water to juice to make 2 cups liquid.
  3. Combine pudding mix, gelatin and measured liquid in medium saucepan.
  4. Cook, stirring, over medium heat until mixture comes to full boil.
  5. Pour into a bowl; chill until thickened.
  6. Fold thawed topping into pudding mixture.
  7. Meanwhile, combine cookie crumbs and melted butter.
  8. Press into 9-inch square baking pan.
  9. Bake in 375 degrees oven 8 minutes; cool.
  10. Pour pudding mixture into cooled crust.
  11. Top with pineapple.
  12. Chill about 2 hours until firm.
