Halloween Mud Bars

These chewy, chocolate-filled, chocolate and candy corn topped bars also have nuts in them.

  1. PREHEAT oven to 375°F Grease 9-inch-square baking pan.
  2. COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
  3. Beat sugar, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
  4. Beat in egg; gradually beat in flour mixture.
  5. Stir in 1 1/4 cups morsels and nuts.
  6. Spread into prepared baking pan.
  7. BAKE for 20 to 23 minutes.
  8. Remove pan to wire rack.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining morsels.
  10. Let stand for 5 minutes or until morsels are shiny; spread evenly.
  11. Top with candy corn.
  12. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  13. Refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes or until chocolate is set.
  14. Cut into bars.
