Green Tomato Pickles

I found it from a old Farm Journal and I changed some things that I didn't like.

  1. Add sliced tomatoes to water, pickling lime and soak over night.
  2. Next day drain and rinse very good 3 or 4 times, soak in ice water 3 hours.
  3. Drain.
  4. Use a coffee filter and tie all spices, Heat vinegar, sugars,onions and spice bag to a boil 5 minutes remove onions and spice bag.
  5. Add tomatoes.
  6. Simmer until translucent about 15 minutes.
  7. Pack into jars and cover with syrup.
  8. Adjust lids at once.
  9. Process 10 minutes.
