Green Beans With Shallots and Red Bell Pepper

Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh green beans
- 1⁄3 cup butter or 1⁄3 cup margarine
- 3 large shallots, chopped
- 1 large red bell pepper, cut thin strips
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt or 1 teaspoon table salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
- Cook beans in boiling water to cover in a Dutch oven 3 to 4 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.
- Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add shallots and bell pepper, and saute 4 minutes or until tender. Add beans; toss with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
