Green Beans with herbs

This is a simple way to serve garden green beans with summer herbs. Adapted from New Mexico Magazine (March 2004) Show more

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 1  lb green beans, trimmed
  • 14 cup water
  • 2 -3  tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup  chopped onion
  • 14 cup  chopped celery
  • 1  clove garlic, minced
  • 1  tablespoon rosemary, chopped (or use 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1  tablespoon basil, chopped (or use 1/2 teaspoon dried)

Directions

  1. Place beans and water in sauce pan and bring to a boil.
  2. Cook for 6-8 minutes or until crisp-tender.
  3. Drain and return to pan.
  4. Add remaining ingredients to pan.
  5. Cover and cook for 4-6 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
