Great Grandma's Drop Doughnuts

I got this from the newspaper, though I use it often.

  1. Published in "Sweets & Treats" Lanier Publishing International. Comes from Lumberman's Mansion Inn in Haward, WI.
  2. Beat the egg slightly in a bowl. Add sugar, oil and milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and nutmeg and add to egg mixture, stirring well.
  3. Doguh will be sligtly stiff. I skip putting it in the refrigerator and Heat oil to +/_ 350 degrees F. Drop dough byt the teaspoon onto the pan. Turn once. Fry until brown and cooked all the way through, about 3 minutes. Drain. Cover with powder sugar and cinnamon or enjoy plain.
