Great Grandma's Drop Doughnuts

Ingredients
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- powdered sugar, as desired
- cinnamon, as desired
Directions
- Published in "Sweets & Treats" Lanier Publishing International. Comes from Lumberman's Mansion Inn in Haward, WI.
- Beat the egg slightly in a bowl. Add sugar, oil and milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and nutmeg and add to egg mixture, stirring well.
- Doguh will be sligtly stiff. I skip putting it in the refrigerator and Heat oil to +/_ 350 degrees F. Drop dough byt the teaspoon onto the pan. Turn once. Fry until brown and cooked all the way through, about 3 minutes. Drain. Cover with powder sugar and cinnamon or enjoy plain.
