Granny's Zucchini Bread

My grandmother always made this bread for the holidays, and it was always gone in a hurry. It's simple, and smells great as it bakes. She served warm, sliced it, and spread cream cheese on the slices. Yummy! Show more

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F Grease a regular loaf pan.
  2. Combine the wet ingredients by hand in a medium bowl until well blended.
  3. In a separarate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients.
  4. Add the flour-mixture to the wet bowl.
  5. Stir just until everything is combined.
  6. You can let the dough sit overnight for the flavors to blend, or you can bake it immediately.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake at 350 F for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Serve the loaf while it is warm with the cream cheese for rave reviews.
  10. Note: You can also add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts if you so desire; I recommend toasted walnuts or pecans for the best flavor.
