Grandma's Sugar Cookies

Yields: 50-60 cookies
Ingredients
- 250 g soft butter
- 2 cups caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 kg flour
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs and beat again till creamy.
- Add sour cream, vanilla and bicarb.
- Beat again till smooth and creamy.
- Add flour, stir it in by hand till a soft dough forms.
- Dust work surface with extra flour, roll dough out to 1/2 a centimeter thick.
- Cut into shapes.
- Bake at 175 C for 15 - 20 monutes till lightly browned, longer if you want them crisp.
- Sprinkle with plain or coloured sugar before baking or ice and decorate after baking.
