Grandma's Cake Brownies

Ingredients
Brownies
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon cocoa
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1⁄2 cup Crisco
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Frosting
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 2 -3 tablespoons milk
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3⁄4 cups confectioners' sugar
Directions
- Brownies:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, salt.
- Bring oleo, water, and Crisco to a boil.
- Combine hot ingredients with flour mixture.
- Add eggs, sour cream, baking soda, vanilla.
- Pour into 15x10-inch pan.
- Bake in 400°F oven for about 20 minutes.
- Frosting:
- Once brownies are mostly cooled, boil oleo, milk, and cocoa.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat in with a whisk.
- Spread carefully over brownies.
