Grandma Sahlstrom's Ham Loaf

Yields: 3 loaf
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 lbs veal or 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 1 lb finely ground ham
- 1 cup cracker crumb
- 1 cup milk
- salt & pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard
- 1⁄2 cup vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup water
Directions
- Mix first 6 ingredients, well with hands and mold in pan. Cover with foil and bake at 250 – 275 degrees for 2 ½ - 3 hours. Keep covered until the last 1hr.
- While ham loaf is baking prepare sauce with remaining ingredients: place all ingredients in a small sauce pan bring to a boil for a minute. Simmer 10-15 minutes.
- When one hour remains drain off liquid from ham loaf and pour over sauce ham loaf. Basting every 15 minutes until sauce forms a glaze. Turn up a heat a little.
