Grandma Gerber's Beet Soup

Ingredients
- 1 quart tomato juice
- 1 (15 ounce) can beef broth
- 1⁄2 head cabbage
- 1 (15 ounce) can pickled beets
- 5 carrots
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 1 (15 ounce) can red beans (drained)
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- dill
- salt & pepper
- 1 cup milk
Directions
- Mince onions and cook with ground beef in a large stock pot. Chop cabbage set aside. Shred carrots set aside. Once beef is cooked add all remaining ingredients except milk. Bring everything to a boil until the cabbage is clear and the carrots are soft. Add milk.
