Grandma Frankie's Prune Cake

Nobody could make prune cake like my Grandma. So moist!

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the first six ingredients.
  2. Add oil, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla, mix well.
  3. Fold in prunes and nuts if you are using nuts.
  4. Pour into a greased 13 X 9 X 2 baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, combine all topping ingredients in a saucepan.
  7. Bring to a boil and boil 2 minutes.
  8. Pour over hot cake.
  9. Leave in pan to cool.
