Grandma Ackroyds Rice Pudding

Ingredients
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup rice, I prefer Calrose but any short grain will do
- 1 (370 ml) can evaporated milk
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons nutmeg
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350*.
- In a large oven proof bowl, mix together sugar, milk, rice, water and vanilla.
- Dot the top with butter, and sprinkle generously with nutmeg.
- Bake for 1-1/2 hours.
- Let the pudding sit for at least an hour before serving.
