Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups pastry flour
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
Directions
- For the Sauce:.
- Pour first 4 ingredients in large pan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- For the Dough:.
- Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add milk and melted butter. Mix well.
- Drop dough mixture by spoonfuls into the sauce. Cover and let simmer for 15 minutes without lifting cover.
- Serve warm.
