Grain Medley for Pet Rats

Pet rats thrive on a low-protein, low-fat diet, and this mix is perfect for them. You can add or delete ingredients as they are available to you, but be careful not to add anything sticky (like raisins) that they could choke on. Show more

Ingredients

  • 1  cup  wild & brown rice (dry)
  • 1  cup  tri-color pasta (dry)
  • 1  cup  toasted unsalted soybeans
  • 1  cup  toasted unsalted chickpeas
  • 12 cup  hulled  unsalted pumpkin seeds
  • 1  cup rolled oats (roasted)
  • 1  cup  bran flakes (cereal)
  • 1  cup  Cheerios toasted oat cereal
  • 1  cup granola cereal
  • 1  cup  wheat, kernels (Hard)
  • 1  cup  wheat, kernels (Soft)
  • 1  cup  spelt, kernels
  • 1  cup  rye meal, kernels
  • 1  cup  rye flakes
  • 1  cup wheat germ
  • 1  cup dried cranberries
  • 1  cup soyabean nuggets (3 portions (or more)
  • 1  cup pot barley
  • 1  cup  split peas (dried or raw)
  • 1  cup lentils
  • 12 cup flax seed

Directions

  1. Mix all together and store in airtight container up to 2 weeks.
  2. If longer than 2 weeks, freeze for later use.
