True to its word this is good and there is plenty of it. My mother used to make this a lot, but I don't know where she got the recipe from. Show more

  1. In a large skillet with a lid, brown meat until pinkness is gone and crumble the meat.
  2. Stir in onion soup mix, pepper, mushrooms, and tomato sauce.
  3. Stir in the macaroni and bring to a boil, reduce heat.
  4. Cover and simmer slowly, stirring frequently.
  5. Cook about 20-30 minutes or until macaroni is tender.
  6. Add boiling water as needed.
