  1. PREPARATION:
  2. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  3. In large bowl, combine sugars, butter and shortening and beat until fluffy.
  4. Stir in vanilla and egg and beat to combine.
  5. Add flour, baking soda and salt and mix.
  6. Then stir in remaining ingredients.
  7. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet about 2" apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cookies are very light brown.
  9. Cool slightly on cookie sheet, then remove to wire rack to cool.
