Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups water
- 1 1⁄2 cups white sugar
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick (3-inch)
- 1⁄2 cup raisins
- 1 (750 ml) bottle red wine
- 2 lemons, juiced
- 1 orange, juiced
- 1⁄4 cup sliced almonds
Directions
- In a large pot combine water, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and raisins.
- Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in the wine, lemon juice and orange juice.
- Heat through but DO NOT BOIL.
- Remove the cinnamon stick, ladle into cups and serve with sliced almonds and the boiled raisins.
