Glazed Lemon Bread

Ingredients
Bread
- 1⁄2 cup softened butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh lemon rind
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup milk
Glaze
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1⁄2 cup confectioners' sugar
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs, lemon juice and lemon rind.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt and stir into creamed mixture alternately with milk.
- Pour into greased 8"x4" loaf pan.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until done.
- Combine glaze ingredients.
- Remove bread from pan and immediately drizzle with glaze, then cool on a wire rack.
